ReplyDeletePaige, in Virginia. I joined this group because I have enjoyed Becky's other classes and because I have been looking for something more in my own prayer system. Although I have used Becky's system, I haven't feel successful or satisfied with it. I'd like to spend a year on this subject...so I can develop a more satisfying prayer time. Or maybe a more satisfying documentation of my conversations with God.
Hi, I'm Melissa, and I live in Helena, Alabama (Birmingham area). I joined the group because I don't want my prayer life to be boring, ineffective and repetitious. I want to develop my prayer life into an effective, two way conversation with God, and to grow in my Christian walk. I've read some of Becky's stuff and really enjoy it.

Hello everyone, my name is Marsha and I live in Louisville, KY. I think my main reason for joining this group is to learn to focus on prayer. Prayer changes everything, and I need to be more intentional and consistent with my time with God. I am so looking forward to this big change in my life, and to hear other's stories of change as well.

I want more focus on what really counts...a relationship with my Lord. I would also like to eventually bring this course to my church.

We are going through the Bilbe with Daily Audio Bible together and thought this would be a good challenge for us for 2012. Looking forward to drawing closer to God through prayer.
ReplyDeleteHi there, I'm Kathryn Carrington and I live in the Fullerton, California. I joined the group because God wants me to get serious about prayer. Joining a group like this has been on my heart strongly for the past year and I did nothing about it. Last weekend I had to be in the hospital for three days during Christmas due to a post pregnancy related infection. I had to leave my five week old baby .....it was the worst experience ever. When I got home last Sunday, God told me that each day is a gift. I didn't want another year to go by without doing what God has told me to do.....dive more deeply into prayer. So here I am. I pray this is a transformational time for all of us. Happy New Year!

I have participated in several of Becky's online groups and continue to be blessed by her leadership and commitment to living a life that honors God. As 2012 begins I want to continue to make Bible reading and journaling a part of my daily life, and I want to draw closer to God by praying more earnestly than ever before, "Let[ting Him] Talk to [Me]" (to paraphrase the title of one of Becky's books), and following his lead in all areas of my life.

Stacy, my sister lives in Castle Rock, Co :) I have learned so much from Becky these past 3 years and I have changed my life for the better in so many ways that I just want to keep on going and growing if you know what I mean?! So, I can always use help in my prayer life so hear I am! Truly, I desire to know God more, abide in Him and grow in His love and then let that love flow out to others. I currently pray in a Moms in Touch group for our school, and have some prayer warrior friends that I get together with as well. I am looking forward to a new year, new beginnings, transformation and restoration and all the pain that goes into that process. No pain, no gain - oh boy! Here goes....

ReplyDeleteHi, I'm d'Lyn from Rocklin, California near Sacramento. I've used the Change Your Life Daily Journal on and off for the last few years...absolutely beneficial but sometimes i feel trite. This has been a very stressful year. I need my relationship with God to be more real, tangible, deep in order to spiritually be an example to my teenagers for the few more years i have them, be a better wife to an amazing gift of a man, and to effectively use, give and appreciate with each day given on this earth. Communication is the key in any relationship, right?!

ReplyDeleteHi, I am Lorraine from Ketchikan, Alaska. I have read through Becky's daily Bible since a friend gave it to me in 2000. I have used her journaling system as well. I read her book Let Prayer Change your Life a few years back. I guess I always feel I lack in the prayer part of my life and desire to be closer to God and pray meaningful prayers. I have a mostly unbelieving family so intercessory prayer has been placed deeply on my heart.

ReplyDeleteI have been in Becky's online groups many times and have always grown from them, so I am looking forward to some MORE growth!
God has been calling me into a deeper relationship with Him for the past 8-9 months......He wants me to go deeper and PRAY for my 2 teenage children more. My daughter who just turned 16 and is really struggling with so many things. God has been telling me that I can't fight this in the human realm but the spiritual realm! I have resisted for no other reason than pure laziness and lack of accountability. I believe beyond the shadow of a doubt that I have to fight these teenage years on my knees. So I am glad this series is on prayer. I look forward to seeing God work in all of your lives and loved ones in our lives!!!
Hi, I am Carole from Torrance, CA. At our Christmas family get-together, my sister-in-law, d'Lyn, told me she was going to join this study. I told d'Lyn I didn't think I could fit it in! But in retrospect I need to "fit it in" because I totally need some structure in my conversations with God. (I have enjoyed Becky's materials in the past, but have not been successful in doing the follow thru on scheduled prayer time.) My strong area is acts of service, but my prayer life looks more like texting than a full conversation! I am joining so that I can be more accountable in developing a scheduled prayer time with God and by the end of the year, I pray that it will be an absolute necessity in my day!

I want to commit more to God than anything or anyone else in my life. A year long commitment to devoting myself to appointments with God was the focus I was seeking. 2012 is going to be the turning point in my life to really live!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I'm thrilled by the great response to the Introduction posts. I want to encourage you to keep the posts going -- set a reminder each week to speak up and share. I have found that the "group" becomes more caring toward each other as individuals share. We also learn from each other. We grow more compassionate and prayerful for each other. Just because we can't "see" each other doesn't mean we can "hear, feel, learn and pray" for each other! Yes, and Amen?
ReplyDeleteI'm Cindy Simmons from San Antonio. I spent most of this past year recuperating from 2 knee replacements. I have been involved in Stonecroft ministries and my church prayer ministry for many years but at 60 I decided that I had lots of "work" yet to do - praying for my children and grandchild - plus my unsaved neighbors. I look forward to the consistency and accountability of this group. I am so excited to watch God move in my life.
